A. Packaging
Pack your products using the steps below.
Please carefully read the Warranty Replacement confirmation email as it contains the address to which you should return your product(s). It may contain a UPS prepaid label for countries for which SanDisk provides a label and any extra documentation you may need to send along with your product(s) (commercial invoice, tax number for specific countries).
1. Use a padded envelope
Please use a padded envelope with internal cushioning material, like bubble wrap.
2. Pack your envelope
Print your Warranty Replacement confirmation email. Insert it into your padded envelope, along with your SanDisk product(s).
3. Do not send accessories
DO NOT send any accessories like headphones, cables, plastic cases, adapters etc.
4. Seal the envelope
Seal/tape the envelope to secure the device(s) in the envelope.
5. Provide signed documents
If you were provided with a Commercial Invoice, print three (3) copies of this document, and sign them. Provide the signed documents to the UPS driver or the UPS access point or to your carrier along with the sealed envelope.
B. Shipping
Follow the next steps to complete your return
1. Print your packing slip
If you received a prepaid UPS shipping label in your Warranty Replacement confirmation email, please print and attach it to your envelope using clear packing tape or a label sleeve. Make sure the entire label is visible and undamaged.
You can also reprint the UPS shipping label by clicking here, then enter your Warranty Replacement # (RMA #) and your email address. You will then see a link with an option to print the shipping label.
2. Send & track the package
For countries where we do not provide a UPS prepaid label, please send your SanDisk® device(s) to the address provided on the Warranty Replacement confirmation e-mail using your local postal service or a carrier. Make sure to request a tracking number and a receipt of the postage.

When two electrically charged objects, such as the human body and an electronic device, in this case, a hard disk drive, come into contact with each other, static electricity is discharged. This phenomenon is called ESD (Electrostatic Discharge). ESD generated from the human body can be of the order of several thousand volts. This high voltage pulse enters the electronic device that is touched, resulting in a malfunction or destruction of the IC circuits inside it. To prevent the destruction of a product or system due to the intrusion of ESD into an electronic device that was touched, it is necessary to install countermeasure components that suppress or remove ESD. This can be achieved by touching a grounded metal object before touching the hard drive. For this Western Digital recommends shipping your product back in an ESD bag.
